N-FORM® RECORDS A1 Single units IN 3D DURING LONG-DURATION CHRONIC EXPERIMENTS

N-Form® 3D microelectrode arrays successfully record in A1 of cats during long-duration chronic experiments at a customer’s UCI lab.

Extracellular spike activity was recorded with 32-site recording arrays chronically implanted in area A1 of 12 cats.

Our results obtained with single- versus multiple-unit recordings showed minimal or no differences in bandwidths or monotonicity indices. The absence of a strong sensitivity to unit isolation suggests that neighboring neurons tend to share similar frequency and level sensitivity. “

“It now seems clear that the principal factor accounting for differences between the awake-marmoset results and previous results from anesthetized cats is awake- versus-anesthetized conditions. “
